ARES simplex coverage test

Net control guide  |  Join the shared map (opt-in sheet)  |  Data stays in this browser. Pins can be rounded to a grid square for privacy. Keep exports private.

1. Setup

Edit this list to match the ARES tactical simplex plan. Nothing is pre-filled except 146.520, the national simplex calling frequency.

2. Log a station

No location yet.
Saving an existing callsign updates it. "They hear NCS" = what the station reports. "NCS hears them" = what you copy.

3. Stations logged

4. Export

5. Shared map: opted-in members

Only members who say yes are added (tick the box when logging them). The list holds callsign, grid square and date only. Export it, then have it published so every member's map shows who opted in.

6. APRS positions (opted-in, private)

For members who agree: net control's computer looks up their APRS position (rounded to the grid they chose, or exact if they allowed that) and the page shows it, or fills it in when you log them. Positions are never published and are not kept after you close the page. Run aprs_snapshot.py, then load the file it writes.

The map library could not be loaded (internet needed the first time). Logging and exports still work; reload this page when online to see the map.
